Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo’s dedication to education has once again shone through as he presented 500 free GCE forms to students in Ifelodun LCDA. This selfless act aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and support academic excellence in the community.
During the presentation ceremony, Okeowo encouraged the recipients to make Ifelodun LCDA proud by excelling in their academic pursuits. He acknowledged the current economic challenges, stating, “I understand that things are tough for families, and this is our way of taking some burden off their shoulders.”
The Supervisor for Education and Library Services, Hon. Ramon Ajao, thanked Okeowo for his kind gesture, especially during these tough economic times. The Head of Department of Education and Library Services, Mrs. Funmilayo Yetonde Abraham, advised students to choose their subject combinations wisely, tailoring them towards their future course of study.
Okeowo promised to provide additional support, including free JAMB forms, assistance with admissions, bursaries, and other necessary aid. One of the recipients, Chioma Nwosu, expressed her gratitude, stating that the free GCE form would help her realize her dream of overcoming ignorance, diseases, poverty, and bondage associated with illiteracy.
