As the Lagos State Director of the International Association of World Peace Advocates, I, Ambassador Owolabi Owolowo, am honored to share the highlights of our International Women’s Day Celebration 2026. The event, held on March 6th, 2026, brought together distinguished guests, respected leaders, esteemed women, and gentlemen to recognize the extraordinary strength, resilience, and impact of women across Nigeria and the world.
In my welcome address, I emphasized the significance of the 2026 theme, “Give to Gain”, highlighting the importance of women’s contributions to nation-building, leadership, and progress. “When women give their time, they gain influence. When women give their knowledge, they gain legacy. When women give love, they build unity. When women give courage, they achieve victory.”
I challenged women to give their talents, voice, leadership, and excellence, assuring them that “when you give your best, the world gives you recognition. When you give value, you gain relevance. And when you give impact, you gain honour.”
The celebration was a testament to the power of women’s empowerment, recognizing the remarkable women who have given selflessly and gained greatness. We celebrated young girls with bold dreams and unstoppable determination, and every woman pushing forward despite challenges.
As we move forward, I urge everyone to commit to giving more support, collaboration, and opportunities, so that together we may gain a future filled with equality, prosperity, and peace.
In conclusion, let us carry the spirit of giving every woman and girl the courage to continue pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and achieving greatness. Let us continue to support and uplift each other, fostering a world where women can thrive and reach their full potential.
Thank you, and may God bless our women, Lagos State, IAWPA, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
