Engr. Eze Aloysious Ahize, the Ezeugo 1 of Ikate Surulere, Lagos state, shares his insights on key issues affecting the Igbo community in Lagos. Achievements as Eze Ndigbo
As the Ezeugo 1 of Ikate Surulere, Engr. Ahize has achieved several notable milestones. According to him, he has settled many conflicts that could have escalated into bigger troubles. “I have settled lot of conflict that would have escalated to big trouble,” Engr. Ahize said. He has also visited several orphanages and assisted less privileged in Ikate, especially Ndigbo. These efforts have earned him respect and admiration from the community.
Performance of Lagos State Government
Engr. Ahize praised the Lagos state government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for their efforts in developing the state. According to him, the governor has done a lot of good work for the benefit of Ikate and other communities in Lagos. “The state government, Babajide Sanwo-Olu Lagos state governor have done a lot of things for the goodness of Ikate,” Engr. Ahize said. He highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the governor, including drainage construction and road development projects.
Support for Tinubu’s Second Term
As a respected leader in the Igbo community, Engr. Eze Aloysious Ahize has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office. According to him, Tinubu’s achievements within his first term are commendable, and he deserves another four years to continue his good works. “I believe President Bola Tinubu deserves another four years in office,” Engr. Ahize said. “All Igbos in Lagos should give him maximum support to continue his good works.”
Praise for Chief Aguene
Engr. Ahize also praised Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos state, for his leadership and contributions to the community. According to him, Chief Anyaegbu has created job opportunities for youths through his investments in Chisco Transport and hotels. “Chief Chidi Anyaegbu is a great pillar to the sustenance of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos state,” Engr. Ahize said. “He has created job opportunities for youths in his investments, and we appreciate his efforts.”
New Yam Festival
The New Yam Festival is an annual celebration that brings together the Igbo community in Lagos to celebrate their rich cultural heritage. Engr. Ahize, who is the Ezeugo 1 of Ikate Surulere, Lagos state, is set to host the festival again this year. According to him, this year’s festival will be more successful than the last, thanks to the support of friends and well-wishers. “This year’s festival will be more successful than the last,” Engr. Ahize said. “One of my friends has given me a cow, and others are bringing presents to support me.” Engr. Ahize expressed gratitude to his friend, Ozor Dike Anagbalu-uzi, for giving him a cow to support the festival. “I’m grateful to friends like Ozor Dike Anagbalu-uzi for their support,” Engr. Advice to Igbos
As a respected leader in the Igbo community, Engr. Ahize offered some advice to his fellow Igbos in Lagos. According to him, it’s essential for Igbos to maintain good relationships with their host Yorubas. “Let’s continue to maintain good relationships with our host Yorubas,” Engr. Ahize said. “We make our daily bread in Lagos, and it’s essential to coexist peacefully.”
