In a nostalgic reflection, we revisit the remarkable installation of Chief (Engr.) Aloysius Ahize as Eze Ndigbo of Ikate Surulere, Lagos State, with the esteemed title Eze Ugo I. The event took place at Calabar Hall Surulere, Lagos on 30th July, 2023, by Lagos State Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, High Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene and various Igbo groups.  This flashback highlights his inspiring journey, leadership, and contributions to Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Lagos community. Chief (Engr.) Aloysius Ahize is a renowned philanthropist, successful businessman, Christian and leader. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to humanity.

Q: Can you introduce yourself?

A: I’m Chief (Engr.) Aloysius Ahize, one of the patrons of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.

Q: What informed your presence at the Ohanaeze Ndigbo function?

A: President High Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene invited me for my installation as Eze Ndigbo of Ikate Surulere.

Q: How will you support Ohanaeze Ndigbo with your new title?

A: I’ll support Ohanaeze financially, prayerfully, and with wisdom, as God grants me.

Q: Advice to High Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene:

A: Solomon has wisdom and knowledge; God will give him more to lead Ndigbo in Lagos.

Q: Assessment of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration:

A: Governor Sanwo-Olu is performing well, constructing drainages, roads, and other projects. Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, also supports Ndigbo.

Q: Your thoughts on Oba of Lagos’ support for Ndigbo:

A: Oba Rilwan Akiolu’s support is invaluable. We pray for him, and our President, Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, supports him.
