Saturday, 1st August, 2026 will be etched in gold at the Owode Yewa Divisional Police Headquarters Chapel, Ogun State.

It was not just a farewell. It was a celebration of purpose, service, and calling — all wrapped in one.

The day marked a “Three-in-One” milestone for CSP (Rtd) Akeem Adekunle Adetokunbo:

35 years of meritorious service in the Nigeria Police Force, 20 years in active ministry, and the launch of his book. Dignitaries, officers, church leaders, and community stakeholders gathered to honor a man described as principled, incorruptible, and God-fearing. Among them was Alhaji Olamiyekan Akinsanya Nurudeen, a committed member of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC.

EXCERPT: IN CONVERSATION WITH ALH. OLAMIYEKAN AKINSANYA NURUDEEN, PCRC MEMBER

Q: Sir, can you please introduce yourself?

A: Thank you very much. My name is Alhaji Olamiyekan Akinsanya Nurudeen, a member of the Police Community Relations Committee.

Q: What is your comment on today’s event?

A: I am very glad to be here. Today is a very special day, personally to me. We are celebrating a “three-in-one” program: retirement, 20 years in ministry, and a book launch for our former DPO, CSP (Rtd) Akeem Adekunle Adetokunbo of Owode Yewa Division, Ogun State.

To serve the Nigeria Police Force for 35 years in good health, with a clean record, is remarkable. It is a very joyful day. I personally listened to testimonies from invitees about the goodness and kindness God used him to do while serving the NPF. This is the kind of outing I will always love to attend.

Q: How has PCRC been supporting the growth of this Division?

A: We support the Owode Divisional Headquarters as we have always done, and we are ready to do even more. The Nigeria Police is serving us 24 hours, so we must also stand with them.

Q: What have you learned from CSP (Rtd) Adetokunbo’s lifestyle?

A: In fact, I learned a lot. When he first resumed, we didn’t fully understand him. But as time went on and we became cordial, we discovered he is a man of principle. If every person can stand on principle like him, our society will be pure and okay.

He stands firmly on the law. He will not compromise. He applies the law fairly in his decisions.

Q: What is your advice to the community?

A: My advice to the community is to comply with government laws. What government does not allow, we should not do it, especially as it concerns security of lives and property.  My advice to him is to continue his godly lifestyle. To other officers, I say: emulate this attitude and character.  My prayer for CSP (Rtd) Akeem Adekunle Adetokunbo is this: by God’s grace, he is retiring but not tired. For the remaining time of his life, he will spend it joyfully and in good health. May the Almighty God continue to be with him and his family.

Conclusively,  the story of CSP (Rtd) Adetokunbo is a reminder that a uniform can carry both authority and anointing. For 35 years he enforced the law without bending it. For 20 years he preached the Word without diluting it. Today, he leaves behind a book as a legacy for the next generation.

As PCRC and the Owode Yewa community celebrated him, the message was clear: Service with integrity leaves footprints that outlive a career.

May his next chapter in ministry be even greater than the last. Amin
