Primate, (Dr.) Prophet Ojo  Ayobanjor,  is the Christian Association of Nigeria coordinator of Ajeromi  Local Government Area chapter. In this interview with The Unique Model magazine, he speaks about his experience and commends the LCDA chairman, Mayor Olufemi  Akanbi  Okeowo for sustaining the programme over the years. He also speaks about the Cherubim and Seraphim church and that the Holy Spirit dictates their operations.

Excerpts:

Can you introduce yourself, sir?

Thank you, my name is Primate, (Dr.) Prophet Ojo  Ayobanfor,  the Christian Association of Nigeria coordinator of Ajeromi  Local Government Area chapter.

Your attire simply identifies you as a member of the White Garment Church, can you talk briefly about the Cherubim and Seraphim church?

You are right, I am from the Cherubim and Seraphim church founded by Prophet Moses Orimolade of blessed memory, we are a discipline organization, we believe in the Holy Spirit. The church is being led by the Holy Spirit, and we follow what the Holy Spirit says, so that is the brief I can tell you about the Cherubim and Seraphim.

Most Christians or churches do not believe in Christmas, do the Cherubim and Seraphim believe on it?

You see, this carol is almost a worldwide tradition, where we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, so it’s a good thing, even we human beings remember our birthdays and celebrate it. So for someone who is a great healer, someone who died because of our sins, it’s important that we remember his birth, there is nothing bad with the celebration.  I don’t go against it and my doctrine does not go against it.

This carol and concert is not happing in all Local Government Areas, what is your take on what Mayor Okeowo is doing at Ifelodun LCDA?

In my own Local Government, we are having it on our own, the Local Government will not join us, but we thank Mayor Okeowo for bringing this kind of programme, maybe it will encourage others to join and start doing. Not because Okeowo is a Christian, whatever you are doing, do it because you have the love of your people in mind. You know Christmas time is a time of giving, bringing people together to put smiles on their faces. So, I think that is what he has done to make people smile, so it’s a good project.

We have different Christian denominations but one thing is common, the Bible, why are there conflicts among some denominations, even in CAN, not all churches belong, and their doctrines are different?

People are trying to create their own doctrine that is exactly what is happening today, they are trying to create their own doctrines and when you see the Christians these days, and they are not like the Christians of the old. Most Christians these days seek help from where they are not supposed in the name of doing miracle. They want to be live Jesus Christ, which they cannot be. So as for me, I believe through worshipping, prayer, and praise, we can serve God.

What lesson have you learnt from what happened today?

I learnt how to love my fellow human being, not only Christians, you can see, people in the auditorium, we have Muslims, So, if this type of love can go around, Nigeria will be a better place for all to live in with little or no problem. This programme has united lots of groups, class and Christianity.
