A Celebration of Igbo Heritage

Can you elaborate on the events celebrated today?

I am delighted to share that these events are a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people. The new yam celebration, in particular, is a significant tradition that showcases our appreciation for the bounty of the earth and the blessings of the Almighty.

Achievements as Ezendigbo

What are your notable achievements since assuming the position of Ezendigbo?

I am happy to say that I have made significant contributions to the community, including donating essential items to churches and supporting the less privileged. These gestures are a reflection of my commitment to the well-being of our people.

Philanthropic Pursuits

What inspired your philanthropic endeavors, and what plans do you have for future initiatives?

My philanthropic pursuits are driven by a sense of responsibility to give back to the community. I am grateful for the support of my sponsors, including Durex Cable Nigeria Limited, which has enabled me to undertake various charitable projects.

Harmonizing Tradition and Faith

How do you balance your traditional responsibilities with your Christian faith?

As a devout Christian, I believe that my faith complements my traditional roles. I prioritize my relationship with God and strive to uphold the values of compassion, kindness, and generosity that are inherent in both my faith and our Igbo traditions.

Your greatest joy

What has been your greatest joy since your last birthday celebration?

My greatest joy is the progress made by the governor of Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu, and President Bola Tinubu, in transforming Lagos Island, from Victoria Island to Oshodi, with good roads and streetlights, making Lagos State look like a mega city, courtesy of the Lagos State governor and President Tinubu.

How would you assess the performance of Lagos State Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo President, Ambassador Solomon Ogbonna Aguene?

Ambassador Solomon Ogbonna Aguene has done exceptionally well for Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State, by securing a secretariat for Ndigbo, distributing palliatives during COVID-19, and resolving conflicts between Ndigbo and other tribes amicably.
