The importance of education in the development of the society came to the fore, on Friday at the secretariat of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, as the executive chairman of Apapa Iganmu LCDA Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu joined the member of House of Representatives APAPA Federal Constituency, Hon. Samuel Adedayo who presented 700 double-seater desks to schools across the constituency.
The distribution of the desks by Hon. Samuel Adesola Adedayo is in tandem with keeping alive the Renew Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Undoubtedly,the presence of Hon. Jimoh, who personally coordinated the landmark programme, underscores his commitment to activities that enhance conducive learning environment and promote academic excellence.
Speaking at the occasion, the LCDA helmsman commended Hon. Adedayo and highlighted his contributions to the development of education in the constituency, including the distribution of palliatives, notably food items to the constituents.
He also disclosed that Hon. Adedayo has just facilitated the completion of a Primary Health Centre, located at Zion in Iganmu area of the Council to be commissioned soon.
Delivering a speech at the programme, Hon. noted that education of younger generation has been one of his topmost priorities.
Aside from its distinct advantage of being the best legacy a society can bequeath to its younger generation, the federal legislator hinted that education has played a pivotal role in shaping his life , adding that it is the key to whatever he has been able to achieve in life.
Hon. Adedayo, who used the occasion to reel out his scorecard in the area of education disclosed that he facilitated admission into Queens College, Yaba and Federal Government Girls College, Sagamu for students of Apapa Constituency.
Other accomplishments according to the law maker include, ” Provision of laptops for Apapa Federal Constituency students in tertiary institution of learning, construction of blocks of six classrooms in Sari Iganmu, purchase of 250 JAMB Forms and complimented with Free Tutorial Classes for 2026/2027 candidates from Apapa Federal Constituency, facilitation of admission for over 300 students of Apapa Federal constituency origin in tertiary institution free of charge
” At the national level, I raised a motion of urgent national importance to highlight the plight of bilateral education agreement scholars, prompting the intervention of both Federal Legislative and Executive arms of government, provision of financial support to students from Apapa Federal Constituency in various educational institutions across Nigeria.”
The parliamentarian hinted that the distribution exercise is the second time of such programme, assuring that Apapa Federal Constituency will witness sustainable infrastructure renewal under his watch.
Hon. Adedayo, who seek for continuous support from the constituents, promised to continue his advocacy for more federal interventions for the people.
He equally asked the people to support his reelection for the second term and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
