On 5th March 2026, Police College Ikeja witnessed a landmark moment in the spiritual growth of the Lagos State Police Command as Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya, General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, officially dedicated the Prince of Peace Chapel for the Nigeria Police Chaplaincy and the Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria CPFN. Themed “I have chosen and consecrated this house” 2 Chronicles 7:16, the dedication drew a large gathering of CPFN members, Lagos State Chaplaincy officials, CSP Ven. Ezekiel Ugbotor, Bishop Chidi Anthony, National President of CPFN Stakeholders Forum, and members of MFM. AIG Omolara I. Oloruntola, Commandant of Police College Ikeja, was represented and delivered an inspiring message to recruits and serving officers. The strong turnout underscored the Command’s commitment to godliness and its vision to raise officers who will bring honor to the Nigeria Police Force.
Dr. Olukoya, described as a prayer machine and a vessel used by God to deliver those in bondage, preached a message centered on life transformation through prayer after dedicating the chapel. Drawing from his personal background, he shared that his father served as a police officer before retiring at 70 to become a pastor. He stressed the efficacy of prayer, urging not only officers but all participants to cultivate a consistent prayer life that provokes divine intervention.
He described prayer as the most powerful energy and the true preparation for battle. While the devil can imitate singing, dancing, and prophecy, he said, he cannot pray, and there is no substitute for it. Once the devil takes a Christian’s prayer life, that believer becomes powerless. Prayer, he noted, has brought down fire, parted the Red Sea, blessed, destroyed, and killed. If a Christian can pray, there is no problem, because the spirit of prayer invites Almighty God to dwell within and speak directly.
Dr. Olukoya cited biblical examples to illustrate prayer’s power. Lazarus, who was very dead, was raised by Jesus Christ’s command through prayer. He reminded the congregation that God never fails, never loses a battle, and never lies. In God’s dictionary there is no impossibility. He can bring something out of nothing and be provoked into action. He also referenced instances where prayer defied medical reports and brought unmerited favor.
Using the story of blind Bartimaeus, he emphasized the need for specificity in prayer. When Bartimaeus heard Jesus was passing, he cried out loudly, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.” Though others tried to silence him, he shouted even louder until Jesus stopped and asked, “What do you want?” Bartimaeus answered, “That I may receive my sight,” and was healed instantly. Dr. Olukoya charged the congregation to always tell God exactly what they want.
Conclusively, the service ended with Dr. Olukoya releasing prayer points for the congregation. CSP Chaplain Ugbotor presented him with an award on behalf of the Command and CPFN, expressing gratitude for a visit that brought spiritual transformation. He affirmed that both the Command and Police College would not take the visit for granted. The dedication of the Prince of Peace Chapel will be remembered as a defining date in the history of the Lagos State Police Command and Police College Ikeja, a day that anchored the institution on the foundation of prayer, faith, and divine consecration.
