The second edition of the free medical outreach of the Apapa Iganmu LCDA took place at the weekend, where no fewer than 700 residents benefited.

The medical outreach was organised in conjunction with the students of the Lagos State University College of Medicine.

Speaking at the programme held on Saturday 11th, April  2026, at the open space of Baale bus stop along Sari road, the executive chairman of the LCDA Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu urged residents to prioritise their health by embarking on regular medical check up.

Hon. Jimoh emphasised that the residents need to take regular medical check ups for early detection of any ailment which will allow early medication.

The LCDA helmsman expressed gratitude for the massive turnout and reaffirmed his commitment to making quality healthcare a lasting legacy—including the vision for a dedicated General Hospital for our LCDA.

He commended the LASUCOM team for partnering with the council for programme, just as he assured that his administration will hold regular medical outreach programmes for residents of the council area.

Also speaking on the programme, leader of the LASUCOM team and Vice President Lagos State College of Medicine  Adewole Yasir Adewale said the initiative is part of the students way of giving back to the community.

” It is our own way of giving back to the community. The community has given us a lot by teaching us a lot of experience. This’s our little way of showing appreciation to the community by offering free medical service”.

Beneficiaries, which include Mr. M.O Ladu, Jamiu Fasila Adunni, Shadia Odunrinde applauded the LCDA chairman for the programme and wished him a successful tenure of office.

They also implored him to continue with the programme to enable more people benefit from it.

The exercise features free dental consultations to essential screenings for hypertension, malaria, diabetes, and more.
