The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA, Dr. Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, hosted another edition of the Ounje Adugbo Palliatives and OkeMoney Support Programme at the council secretariat. The event, held under the Renewed Hope Relief Support Programme, reinforced his administration’s track record of delivering consistent, grassroots-focused welfare since his first term over five years ago.
What began as food support for 1,500 residents has grown into a wider intervention reaching no fewer than 4,000 residents with food packages at this edition. Alongside the food distribution, 100 petty traders received ₦100,000 each to strengthen their businesses, 500 elderly citizens received ₦10,000 each as welfare support, and 700 vulnerable youths were empowered with ₦10,000 each to ease economic pressures and improve livelihoods.
The initiative aligns directly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, translating federal policy into practical relief for households in Ifelodun.
The well-coordinated event drew a strong turnout of dignitaries and stakeholders. In attendance were Vice Chairman Alhaja Adetoun Ojora-Adejiyan; Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA G-17 and former House of Representatives member Hon. Taiwo Oyewole Adenekan; serving Lagos State House of Assembly member Hon. Lukman Sa’ad Olumoh; former House of Representatives member Hon. Kolawole Taiwo; and former Executive Chairman Hon. Fatai Shuaib Ajidagba.
Also present were APC Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA Comrade Babalola Olalekan, honourable councillors and supervisors led by SLG Hon. Rasheed Lanre Ramon, and Leader of the 6th Legislative Council Hon. Ilesanmi Tosin Elijah. The programme was further enlivened by the Superwomen group, representatives of CAN and the League of Imams, Community Development Committees, artisans, persons living with disabilities, youth representatives, and members of the press.
Conclusively, through the Ounje Adugbo and OkeMoney programmes, Dr. Okeowo continues to demonstrate how sustained local action can deepen the impact of the Renewed Hope agenda at the grassroots. By expanding both food and financial support over five years, his administration has built a model of consistent, people-oriented governance that prioritizes traders, youths, the elderly, and vulnerable households across Ifelodun LCDA.
