“A Church Built on Integrity and Divine Direction” — Deacon Fred Uwom

It was a double celebration at Pentecostal Canaanland Mission, PCM as the church held its Mid-Year Thanksgiving Service 2026 and honoured its General Overseer, Pastor Nick Medo-Uwa, who was recently conferred with the title of Patron by the Lagos State Police Chaplaincy.
The thanksgiving, held in line with divine instruction to gather and thank God twice yearly, was filled with gratitude for God’s faithfulness, protection and provision in the first half of the year.
Speaking with The Unique Model Magazine, Deacon Fred Uwom, a 20-year veteran of PCM, described the season as one of thanksgiving to God and recognition of a servant-leader whose life reflects integrity.
A CALL TO THANKSGIVING
Q: Sir, what is the purpose of today’s mid-year thanksgiving?
Deacon Uwom: “We are celebrating the faithfulness of God, the grace, mercy and provision of God, and every other good thing God has done for us.
Our General Overseer, Pastor Nick Medo-Uwa, received a revelation from God that every year we should gather to thank Him twice — after the first six months and after the second six months.
So in 2026, we are witnessing the mid-year thanksgiving according to the direction of God. When we look back, we see God’s faithfulness. We say, God, thank You.”
POLICE CHAPLAINCY HONOURS A KINGDOM SERVANT
Q: What do you have to say about the award conferred on Pastor Nick by the Lagos State Police Chaplaincy?
Deacon Uwom: “It was a thing of joy on Sunday, 28th June 2026. The patron honour given to our General Overseer by CSP Ezekiel Ugbutor and the Lagos State Police Command Chaplaincy is not just a mark of honour. It is a reward for hard work.
Pastor Nick has been committed to the development of the Lagos State Police Chaplaincy over the years. As the Head Chaplain said, Pastor Nick loves the things of God and humanity.
Based on that commitment, the Chaplaincy came to honour him and encourage him to continue his good work for humanity and the Kingdom.”
20 YEARS OF STEADFASTNESS
Q: What has kept you in PCM for 20 years?
Deacon Uwom: “I saw a man of God who is dedicated to God. Pastor Nick does not act on his own. He works from the direction of God. He listens to God and that is why his decisions succeed.
His lifestyle is worth emulating. He practices what he preaches. That is why I have stayed 20 years.”
WORD TO NEW MEMBERS & MINISTERS
Q: Your advice to new members and pastors involved in scandals?
Deacon Uwom: “To new members: Be patient. God is a miracle-working God. Wait, pray, and listen to instruction. Your testimony will come.
To pastors: Let us stop tarnishing the image of Christendom. If God called you, hold on to God. He will supply all your needs. That is what makes Pastor Nick distinguished — no scandal with women, girls or money.”

Q: Final prayer for Pastor Nick?
Deacon Uwom: “God will continue to uphold him with good health, wisdom and long life.”
Conclusively, the Mid-Year Thanksgiving at PCM was a testimony of gratitude and honour. Gratitude to God for His faithfulness, and honour to a leader recognised by both the church and the Lagos State Police Chaplaincy for service to God and humanity.
As PCM steps into the second half of 2026, the message remains: obey God, walk in integrity, and give thanks always.
