The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Dr. Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has once again demonstrated purposeful leadership and appreciation for grassroots mobilisation as he rewarded APC e-registration agents with a ₦1 million cash gift during a specially organised feast night.

The gesture, announced during the daily performance review meeting of the agents last night, was aimed at appreciating their commitment and outstanding performance in the ongoing APC e-registration exercise across the council area. Dr. Okeowo further promised that fifteen additional agents added to the team would be paid handsomely from his personal funds, underscoring his dedication to the success of the exercise.

Other cash gifts shared among the agents are the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira from the incumbent Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly AJIF 1, Hon. Lukman Saad Olumoh; Two Hundred Thousand Naira from the immediate past Chairman, Hon. Fatai Shuaib Ajidagba and One Hundred Thousand Naira from the erstwhile Federal House of Representatives Member, Hon. Leke Kehinde.

Addressing the gathering, the council boss explained that the cash reward was a token of appreciation for a job well done, while charging the agents to maximise the additional one-week extension granted for the exercise to register even more members for the party.

Dr. Okeowo also presented a detailed statistical report of the APC e-registration exercise in Ajeromi-Ifelodun, revealing that a total of 29,989 members have been successfully registered as of yesterday. The data showed 14,357 male members and 15,632 female members, reflecting strong participation across gender lines.

Giving a ward-by-ward breakdown, the chairman disclosed that Tolu Ward recorded the highest number with 4,592 registered members (15.3%), followed by Ojo Road Ward with 3,988 members (13.3%), and Mosafejo Ward with 3,568 members (11.9%). Alaba Oro Ward recorded 3,208 members (10.7%), while Layeni Ward followed closely with 3,000 members (10%).

Further figures showed Ago Hausa Ward with 2,836 members (9.5%), Awodi-Ora Ward with 2,690 members (9%), and Temidire II Ward with 1,733 members (5.8%). Wilmer Ward accounted for 1,581 members (5.3%), Temidire I Ward had 1,420 members (4.7%), while Olodi Ward recorded 1,373 members (4.6%).

Dr. Okeowo described the figures as encouraging, commending the agents for their dedication while urging them to intensify efforts during the additional one-week extension to further boost the party’s membership strength.

The meeting was well attended by key party stakeholders, including the Deputy Leader of the 6th Legislative Council, Hon. Jide Adekola Sarumi, who announced a ₦100,000 cash support from the legislators. Also present were the seven APC Ward Chairmen and notable members of Dr. Okeowo’s kitchen cabinet.

In the same vein, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Mr Bolaji Ayinde, also announced the fulfilment of the ₦100,000 cash pledge made by the Vice Chairman, Alhaja Adetoun Ojora-Adejiyan, further boosting morale among the agents.

Speaking on behalf of the team, the carefully selected agents drawn from various groups expressed deep appreciation to the chairman, showering him with praises and describing the experience as an honour to be part of a purposeful and winning team.

The event once again reaffirmed Dr. Okeowo’s reputation as a leader who values dedication, rewards hard work, and remains committed to strengthening the All Progressives Congress at the grassroots.
