Cleric Says Prayers Alone Are Not Enough, Applauds Hon. Jimoh Saliu and PCRC for Investing in Police Welfare

Renowned clergyman, Bishop Anthony Ezinwa of God’s Harbour Evangelical Ministry, Ijanike, has recognized the vital role of the Nigeria Police Force in promoting peace, order and community development as stakeholders commissioned the new Orile Police Security Guard Post on Thursday, 15th July, 2026.
Bishop Ezinwa, who led the opening prayer at the event, said religious leaders have a divine duty to support police officers both spiritually and physically for a safer society.
The Security Guard Post was built by of Hon. Jimoh Oluwale Saliu, Executive Chairman, Apapa-Iganmu LCDA in partnership with PCRC Orile Division, officially unveiled by Hon. Jimoh Oluwale Saliu, Executive Chairman, Apapa-Iganmu LCDA; CSP Philips Oluwaseun Ogunleti, DPO Orile Division; PCRC Lagos State Executives, community leaders, youths and Ambassador Solomon Otuya, Orile Division Chairman of PCRC and others.
CSP Ogunleti, who hosted the event, received commendations from Hon. Saliu and other stakeholders for his dogged crime-fighting efforts that have made residents “sleep with their two eyes closed.
”BISHOP EZINWA’S POSITION
Speaking exclusively to The Unique Model Magazine, Bishop Ezenwa stressed that security is a shared responsibility.
“Yes, not just to put Nigeria Police officers in prayer, but to pray for them and also give necessary physical support. Like the raincoats that were given to police to work inside the rain — that is important.
Raincoat is not prayer but it is useful to policemen on duty. The policemen are our brothers, fathers, and friends. Everything we can do for them, we should do to encourage them.
So it is encouraging for bishops who God has helped to also support police officers spiritually and physically.”
He further commended Hon. Jimoh Oluwale Saliu for financing the project, describing it as “exactly what we expect from a good chairman” because “investing taxpayers’ money into security is a laudable thing.”
