Apapa-Iganmu LCDA Chairman Applauds DPO and Officers, Pledges Maximum Support for Crime-Fighting in Orile

It was praise and applause all around on Thursday, 15th July, 2026, as stakeholders gathered for the official commissioning of the Orile Police Security Guard Post at Orile Division, Iganmu, Lagos.
The new facility, built by Apapa-Iganmu LCDA in partnership with PCRC Orile Division, was described as a new dawn for officers to be secured while remaining alert on duty under rain and sun.
Amid cheers, Hon. Jimoh Oluwale Saliu, Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, publicly applauded the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Philips Oluwaseun Ogunleti and his team, charging them:
“Continue your good work. The community is seeing what you are doing.
“The event drew traditional rulers, religious leaders, youths, PCRC Lagos State Executives and members, community leaders, and Ambassador Solomon Otuya, Orile Division Chairman of PCRC Orile.

On why he built the Guard Post:
“Security issues are not meant for one person, it is everybody’s responsibility. I want to contribute my quota to the security of my people.
Today we commissioned the security post to protect our police officers. The police need to be protected. If our police are not protected, who will protect us?”
His charge to the DPO and officers:
“The DPO Ogunleti and his men should not relent in their efforts in bursting and combating crime to the barest minimum. The community is seeing how CSP Philips Oluwaseun Ogunleti and his officers are working. The community is impressed with their decorum. Highly responsible officers, gallant service to the community. We are applauding your good work.
Please continue your efforts, it is noticed. If he needs our support, we will give him maximum support to apprehend anybody that is a criminal in the community. I don’t support criminal.
CSP Philips Oluwaseun Ogunleti, well done for your good job in Orile Police Station. I know of your efforts. You are still young, a young officer who is highly intelligent. Just continue all your good works in Orile Station.”
Continuity and maintenance:
“I am going to do more things besides this station’s security Guard Post.
I also want to advise that whoever is given something in Nigeria should be allowed to maintain it. If a vehicle is given to a station, the station should take care of the maintenance.”
Safety and community engagement:
“When I was campaigning, I said I have zero tolerance for criminals. Now as chairman, I ensure security is maintained.
We meet twice a month on security issues. We work with police, local security, and even the Military at Mile Two Signal Barrack. That is why we enjoy peace day and night.”
Other police support:
“I provided street lights at Orile Station. When Police brought a drug-free programme for schools, I supported it across 13 Secondary Schools in Apapa-Iganmu and Coker Aguda. I want a drug-free society.”
What’s next:
“I will continue to work for my people. That is why I am chairman.”
Conclusively, the unveiling of the Orile Police Security Guard Post is more than infrastructure. It is a vote of confidence in the Nigeria Police and a call to deeper collaboration.
